Sharing our learning

e-Learning Using Google Hangouts & Chromebooks

Room 10 is building connections with students in an Australian International School in Hong Kong.

To see our first Google Hangout you can click on the link, which will open in a new tab.  Click here.

We are learning about each other.

Each group consists of 3 Room 10 students and they have 2 students their end, which makes 5 in a group.

We are finding out what they like learning about, what they want to be when they grow up, and other cool things.

We love learning about our new friends in Hong Kong and they love learning about us.

What Is A Venn Diagram & How Is It Useful?

Written by Kaleb and Philip

Who made the Venn diagram?
John Venn

Why did he invent it?
John Venn invented this because it was a way to see
the differences and similarities of two things.
(In Philip’s own words.)

This is an example of  the venn diagram.

We typed these in google, who made the venn diagram and why.

Here is an example of one of our Venn Diagrams.....

Raining Outside... No Problem...

In Room 10 we know how to play happily
with others when it is a wet day.

Google Hangout With Our Hong Kong Friends

21st Century skills are being developed in Room 10 with the connection between two classes in very different countries.  Today was our second Google Hangout where we shared some jokes and asked each other questions.

Room 10 is slowly getting to know our new friends at the
Australian International School Hong Kong (AISHK)

Carl Ohlson who used to work at Rangikura School is the teacher of the class we have buddied up with.  It's great to have this opportunity for the students to learn about each other and their cultures.

Students take turns sharing jokes and information with each other.

We catch up once every week.

Our next Google Hangout will have us breaking into smaller groups and interviewing each other using our Chromebooks.  We will find out more about the different countries and cultures that make us who we are.

We were lucky enough to have Kiri in our classroom on Tuesday.  One of her many talents is art and the kids loved making their reflective art pieces with her.
