Te Wiki o te Reo Māori

This week has been Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori. We have been looking at many aspects of the Māori language and te Ao Māori. We have worked in groups to have a korero in te reo. We also all made a waka huia from a template and selected Māori designs to use. We had to understand the meaning of these designs and explain why we used them. Here are some of the waka huia that we made.

Haka Challenge

The boys and girls from rooms 9 and 10 had a haka challenge. It was fierce.
Matua Todd and Whaea Clare would have been so proud of everyone.
You showed great respect and passion.

Voting - why?

Kris Fa'afoi came to speak to us about the importance of voting and about the election coming up.
Cherish-Rose asked a question on behalf of our class.
Our question was "How does voting impact our future?"
