Idioms.... Lots & Lots Of Idioms...

 Here are some idioms we have been given from people around our school:


  • Pain in the neck
  • Get under my skin
  • Can't put your finger on it
  • Put your foot in it
  • Foot in mouth
  • Put your back into it
  • A tongue lashing
  • Better than a poke in the eye
  • Can't get my head around it
  • Hard to stomach
  • In one ear and out the other
  • Quite a mouthful
  • Got a skinful
  • By the skin of my teeth
  • Legging it down the road
  • By the arm load
  • Going weak at the knees
  • Giving you the cold shoulder
  • Horses couldn't drive me away
  • Having cold feet
  • Two left feet
  • My eyes are on you
  • Pull your socks up
  • Wear your heart on your sleeve
  • Use some elbow grease
  • Wrap your tongue around it
  • The horse has bolted
  • Hit the road
  • That cost and arm and a leg
  • The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing

  1. Hello I am teacher and I love to teach idioms to my little students. Sometimes they makes me feel laugh so laud, when I ask them to tell the meaning of idioms.
